Video calling added to Facebook

Facebook wants to make it easier for its users to see each others' faces. The company, as expected, introduced integrated Video Calling, along with Group Chat and a new chat interface design.
Facebook Video Calling, powered by a compact Skype plug-in, allows users to launch a video chat session with one other person using only two clicks. Because the plug-in is downloaded on-demand, with a single permission request, users can initiate video calls and recipients can answer without pre-installing Skype's software.
This approach does away with a traditional barrier to the growth and adoption of software-based services, on both the Web and the desktop--the need to install and maintain software.
"The majority of users don't want to take the time to configure this stuff themselves," said Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to the group of journalists who had come to Face

iPhone:Getting Lighter and Thinner

So in this summer having an iPhone more lighter and thinner than the previous versions is enough to bring cheers
How much thinner or lighter, I don't know; the iPhone 4, which came out last summer, weighs 4.8 ounces and is .37 of an inch thick. There's also been discussion of a curved screen on the next model, as well as an 8-megapixel camera (compared to the 5-megapixel one it has now).

The Wall Street Journal Wednesday also noted the 8-megapixel camera as being likely for the new iPhone, as well as a sleeker, slimmer version, based on reports from "some suppliers of components to Apple."

Not only are the dimensions and camera of interest, but so is the timing for what is apparently a more complex piece of equipment than the current version. This is the first year since the iPhone came out in 2007 that its summer release has been pushed back.

Google's Android mobile operating system is growing vastly like ....man i cannot imagine.
Andy announced that he is now seeing 500,000 Android smartphones and tablets activated each day. That's up from 400,000 activations Rubin copted to in May at Google I/O and 300,000 he tweeted about last December.
Rubin, who revealed the news early June 28 in this Twitter tweet, also said he is seeing a 4.4 percent week-to-week growth in handsets and tablets running the open source operating system.
The news comes one week after reports surfaced that Apple's iPhone 4 on Verizon Wireless and the forthcoming iPhone 5 are slowing Android's smartphone market share roll.
